Classical Ballet Teacher

I graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, where I later became a modern dance instructor at the Department of Folk Art. I also completed my education at St. Petersburg State Conservatory, majoring in choreography. Additionally, I received training in the USA under a grant to support talented youth at the American Dance Festival in North Carolina in 2010. I lived and worked in the USA from 2014 to 2019, primarily at the Brighton Ballet Theater in New York. I was a former dancer of the “Cannon Dance Company” in St. Petersburg, and have won several competitions for young choreographers. I also worked as a choreographer for the performance “Daphnis and Chloe” at the Leonid Yakobson Theater of Choreographic Miniatures.

Currently, I teach jazz dance techniques and the basics of modern dance for bachelor’s and masters at the Vaganova Ballet Academy of Russian Ballet, where I am part of the performing faculty and the department of choreographer’s art. I am also in charge of a professional retraining course for specialists in the program “teacher-choreographer of modern dance” at the St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television.

Mr. Pavel Kurov
Contemporary Teacher

Born in Hiroshima, Japan, I began my ballet training at the Ikemoto Ballet School. My studies continued at the Cannes Rosella Hightower in France and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Russia. In France, I was introduced to barre au sol and received nearly two decades of instruction from Jacqueline, a devoted student of the method’s creator, Boris Kniaseff. Upon graduating from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, I joined the Columbia Classical Ballet in the United States and was soon chosen to perform the lead in The Nutcracker. I later took on soloist roles with various European ballet companies. Presently, I teach a variety of classes and engage in several fields, including television, magazines, and book publishing.
